Advantages of Solar Water Heaters

  1. Solar energy is an abundant and accessible source of renewable energy that can significantly reduce our dependence on non-renewable energies (fossil fuels). Solar water heaters are among the most effective plans for public and easy use of solar energy to supply hot water for domestic and industrial use, such that the surface temperature of the solar collector absorber can rise up to about 100 °C and, in high-efficiency models, the temperature of the heated water can reach the boiling point.

  4. This energy supply process is so effective and efficient that the very first technology of solar water heaters has been developed in a country like Germany as one of the countries in the northern part of Europe and the pioneer in producing this technology.

It should be noted that the amount of energy saving per square meter of solar collectors is equivalent to one liter of oil per day for 365 days a year. Therefore, in addition to a significant reduction in household energy consumption per year, non-renewable energy reserves are also protected to the interest of preserving the environment.

Another valuable project in terms of thermodynamic cycle is to provide cooling from solar energy by flat collectors and absorption chiller cycles at a cooling capacity of 5 to 10 tons, which is very suitable for hot and dry and even hot and humid climates. In this method, the cooling energy is generated through an absorption cooling cycle which is operated by the thermal energy (from the solar cycle). In addition to taking advantage of the solar energy, this process gives rise to significant environmental and economic transformations.

  10. Currently, the technical knowhow of producing every single component of solar cooling, and how to set up and operate them, especially with regard to the angle of the sun's radiation, is available in Iran.

  11. Using solar stills is also very simple and effective for regions with very hard tap water, which has the technical and economic justification.

  12. From an application perspective, solar energy is ranked first among the alternative energy resources due to its abundance and ease of access, allowing it to be indefinitely used in various applications.
